Maryam Nazir is an attorney at VZN LLP who advises businesses on employment law and commercial contracts. In her employment practice, she counsels companies on California labor law compliance from onboarding through separation, including employee handbooks, independent contractor and employment agreements, incentive compensation plans, and workplace policies. She also supports clients in pre-litigation and litigation matters.
On the commercial contracts side, Maryam drafts, negotiates, and reviews a wide range of business agreements, including SaaS contracts, vendor and customer agreements, terms of service, privacy and data protection policies, and manufacturing agreements. She works closely with clients to identify risk and structure agreements that align with their business objectives.
Before joining VZN LLP, Maryam worked with the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection, where she assisted with federal regulatory litigation and advised on compliance and enforcement strategy. That experience gives her a sharp eye for regulatory risk across both her employment and contracts practices.
Maryam earned her J.D. from USC Gould School of Law, where she served as Notes & Submissions Editor for the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal and published her student-authored note.
